Sam Mitchell - Director

 

Sam a passionate, innovative, events producer and social media marketer. Sam has a keen and eclectic interest in music, art, and contemporary culture and have over twelve years of diverse events management, and marketing experience across Tasmania and Victoria. Sam a Diploma of Music from the Australian Institute of Music majoring in Contemporary Performance, a Bachelor of Media and Communication with Honours from UTAS and manages his own music and events company – The Blacklist Group.

Sam has a wide experience in the processes of theatre and public space events and has worked on shows in across Tasmania and Victoria including;

• Janet McLeod Productions for the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

• Aboriginal Comedy Allstars touring Show

• Old Nick Company Productions.

• Ten Days on the Island Festival.

• Tas Pride Festival

• White Night Festival, Melbourne.

• Local Laughs, Tap House, St Kilda, with Janet McLeod.

• Various Productions for Tasmanian Theatre Unit Trust.

This has given Sam a wide experience in coordinating and managing complex projects, with the ability to identify priorities whilst maintaining high-quality outcomes and the ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders including, artists, and suppliers.

Sam’s education has given him the skills and experience in planning and executing media campaigns and developing strategic media plans across a diverse range of digital and traditional media.

Sam is also a keen photographer and videographer with a solid understanding of cameras, editing equipment and software and production systems and he is proficient in operating and installing a range of audio-visual sound and lighting equipment.

Sam is very good at building positive relationships with people. Sam thrives in a demanding and fast-paced environment, and he is a great team player who believe we all excel with the support and advice from the people around us.
